Soaking Up the Indoors

Mitchell's Fish Market

Look at all the empty tables in a normally busy Westshore area. Right about this time of year temperatures get down right steamy and I notice few people outside until the sunset. When I see a convertible with the top down in the sunlight I'm sure they must be from Canada. As I head inside to the cool dark bar I move along to the back, away from the sunlight and order a chilled glass of white wine from the list.

You Can Take the Girl Out of France

Nice, France

When I was in France for 3 weeks I ate the best meals of my life. Their sheer passion in food is reason enough to plan a visit. Their meals are amazing because it is the best quality that it can be. It's like they all have these neon signs flashing over them that reads, "Je ne mange mieux, mettre vos ourdures pour les touristes"; obvious only if you can read French. I didn't see many overweight people in France!

Mussels Josephine

Happy Friday! It's been raining here for the past two days. I'm not complaining because it is turning the lawns into a gorgeous green color in time for St Patrick's day next week. The weather left me feeling a bit closed in and not wanting to cook.

Besides, I am also great at making reservations or getting a table at one of my favorite local establishments. The winter has been long and I have no frozen fish stock piled in my freezer. Luckily, Bonefish Grill has a delicious appetizer and it's been ages since I've eaten mussels. What really makes the recipe is the sambuca so don't leave it out.

Sipping Sangria

The perfect weather has lured me outside all day today. Saturday has been fun driving around taking care of some errands around the bay and then we decided to have dinner at one of my favorite restaurants called Ceviche. The sangria is popular here and there may be a couple of pitchers ordered by our party before the night is over. There are two Ceviche restaurants in the area, one in St. Pete and one in Tampa. The Tampa side has the pool to sit around in a quiet relaxed atmosphere. Please forgive my photo but I took it with the iPhone in very low light.

I hope all of you are having a great weekend.

An Evening in Seville, Spain

Seville Cathedral
The cathedral in Seville built in 1401, occupies the site of the great mosque. A climb to the top of La Giraldi allows me to take in the beauty of the city below and the many angles of the immense cathedral. The top of the tower has gone through 4 different changes to reflect the powers of control to the current renaissance belfry.
