Growing up in the Midwest I hunted for the illusive chanterelle mushrooms. As a scout, we ventured into the woods basically to learn how to get out of the woods. It was in the Spring during the rainy season I spotted my first chanterelle mushroom. Being a well read child I was familiar with Alice's tale and waited until I had an experienced guide to lead me before gathering anything wild.
