Run, Girl Run

I love my Saturday running time. The heat hasn't gotten bad and the cool air feels great. It's my time to do something just for me. The birds are singing and I have the neighborhood mostly to myself...almost. Earlier this week I was out running and I was sneak attacked by a dog that ended up scratching my leg rather bad from behind. The lady apologized for her unruly mutt and I said I understood as I stood there bleeding. Sophie (her dog) needs socialization skills and this can only be gained by getting her out more and in different environments. Hopefully, she will head the warning and give the dog a chance to improve. Sophie deserves a happier life and I deserve to run worry free from canine confrontations.

Operation Weed Removal

This has become my mission. The trouble spots in the front are more contained but the yellow spots are persistent. In order to make progress I revisit the area daily for recheck of new growth. The process is going somewhat faster but when I am in the middle of the task I get overwhelmed while the neighborhood dogs use the sod as a fire hydrant. Since it's Halloween season I may have to haunt the hedges to deter this lack of concern by my neighbors.

In The Garden

This weekend I was up to my elbows in dirt trying to recover my yard from weeds that have taken over the portion that I was not willing to part with. It wasn't a pretty site. Having a green yard all year means either you are dedicated to gardening or you pay someone else to do it. I'm in the do-it -yourself category. I get intense exercise from it and feel absolutely no need to ever join a gym.
