Provisions and Sun Protection

My little dobie is still recuperating so she needs to stay out of the sweltering sun and inside.

Gazpacho soup originated in southern Spain's, Andalucia region. Although there are many regional and modern versions it's traditionally made with the following; ripe tomatoes, bell peppers, cucumbers, garlic, bread, olive oil, and vinegar.

The heat is blazing under the Florida sun and I'm hiding under any cover I can find. Yesterday after most people were back at the office I hopped out on the water for a late sunset cruise and fishing spot. Next, I baited my line with a scaled sardine through the nose where it doesn't hurt them. That is, until they become dinner for a bigger fish!

Memorial Day Weekend was long and sunny in my neck of the woods with no hot water. It's been a weekend filled with a couple of odd moments to say the least. Trust me, it's not a good feeling pulling up to the house and seeing a stream of water flowing out of the garage. This morning, as I watched him install the new hot-water heater including the pipe for the blow-off valve (in case bad things happen) I wondered if mine would serve its purpose. I'm glad it was in my garage and not the house.

I'm headed out on the water today; hopefully, the fish are biting because I know the winds are calm. I stopped at Starbucks this morning and picked up a fruit platter for breakfast and a spinach feta wrap for lunch later. The rest of the cooler is filled with drinks and sunscreen to keep cool. It's an SPF 70 day and covering up is wise.

The weather is gorgeous, the water cool and the food delicious. We prepared a lunch of chicken curry with rice with a side of mango and avocado salsa. So delicious. These two are made for each other.
