Cinnamon Sangria
The weather has been gorgeous here and I've been soaking up the cool sunny days and then sipping cinnamon sangria in the evenings while watching the sunset. The fruit mixed in makes it all the more festive.

This time of year my breakfast changes from oatmeal and toppings to citrus instead. Winter here is superb.
Sweet Beginnings
This week is keeping me on my toes. Between work, the roof, and rearranging furniture from the madness, I slept through the night with no problem. It's a huge sense of relief knowing it can take the torrential rain until it's completely redone. When I woke up I checked the floors and the news is good.
Full Circle
This is a time in my life I am revisiting familiar areas. Literally. What's funny about a circle is it implies arriving back at the same point which it began. This may be true for the physical aspect; however, there is so much more to see the second time around.
Sharpening My Knife Skills
I'm doing better today and realize I need time to adjust to getting back in my routine. Cookies and naps were cut out cold turkey. So far I've eaten: kiwi, banana, whole grapefruit, strawberries, tangerine.
Bad Habits
January usually means reality sets in with my food decisions. I didn't gain any weight but I know my food choices have not been well rounded. Too many carbs is often my case: pizza, pasta, bread, tacos, etc. I need to eat more fruits and vegetables for health reasons. My biggest weakness isn't the candy isle, it's the dried mangos in produce. A few too many of these a day and I'm over the top in sugar intake. Must be careful.
My Immersion Blender
For Christmas I scored a new toy and I have been using it to mix up some fruit smoothies. Florida is home to the strawberry capitol in Plant City and these gorgeous ripe berries are bursting in the market everywhere this time of year. A winter perk.
