Pancakes Alfresco

The weekend has flown by but I'm still on vacation and taking full advantage of being outside with breakfast. The Ohana Cafe serves up the most delicious oatmeal pancakes and coffee. Usually in the morning the birds are singing as I head off to work but today I'm enjoying their music.

Once I get fueled up I have some chores to do with boating season here and all.

I hope you have a beautiful morning.

Strawberry Shortcake Juice Blend

Tampa is still riding the most gorgeous weather wave. When I got in from work yesterday I headed out on a run with my iPod fully charged. The thought of running until I ran out of steam crossed my mind more than a few times. Last weekend I bought a juicer and it was the best purchase decision this month. My mind is clearer and I feel more energetic. The juicer is easy to clean and easy to use and I don't know why I waited to buy one until now.

Going Bananas

Could this weather be any more perfect? The waking temps were a bit chilly but they rise by 9am to an ideal 65-70 with sunshine and blue skies. Getting outside and making myself at home in the shade with a book and bite to eat felt decadent. My morning run was quick and then I blew the leaves for the 19th time this week.

Ocean Tumbleweed

Is there anything better than the smell of fresh brewed coffee in the morning? Seriously. Ice coffee and John's oatmeal pancakes are the best on Sunday, preferably after I've been out on the water relaxing. During brunch we talked about the day. My morning went like this - we took the boat out at sunrise and explored the solitary morning hours before beaching for my run along the surf. When I got hot, I dove in the surf, came up for air and flowed right into yoga on the sand. Yoga in the sand is rather hard without a mat.

Perhaps I worked up an appetite?

Tea and Scones

Early this morning I had a craving for some scones to enjoy with my morning tea. These aren't hard to make and take approximately 30 minutes. The endless possibilities of scone combination are a matter of what you have on hand in the kitchen. Chocolate can never be wrong and apricot because it goes so well on pastries. I'm particularly fond of the organic cacao chocolate morsels found at Whole foods.

Banana French Toast

My day got off to a good start when I woke up with french toast on my mind. We went to Michael's Grill for a quaint meal enjoyed outside in the gorgeous weather. One of the specials today was banana french toast. There were bananas on top but the bread slices were actual banana bread. I practically inhaled this.

Play Time

Squeezing my own orange juice is one of the perks I enjoy on a beautiful morning. The weather is perfect in February because I don't sweat or get cold during the day. I'm pretty sure my dog Coda lives for a run on the leash with me or anyone that can keep up with her. This was a day to pack up the dog and head to the park. While there we must have greeted about 50 other dogs out with the same idea. My girl likes car rides and shopping in the pet store after a long day. She isn't as rambunctious in the isle when she is worn out.

Sweet Beginnings

parfait

This week is keeping me on my toes. Between work, the roof, and rearranging furniture from the madness, I slept through the night with no problem. It's a huge sense of relief knowing it can take the torrential rain until it's completely redone. When I woke up I checked the floors and the news is good.

Blue Skies

The sun is shining and so I'm a happy camper today. It's a bad feeling having a leaking roof overhead and worrying about the weather. Typically, this is our dry season but it has been a wet year and seems like a good time to move forward on this project.

Patched Roof

The roofers patched the major problem until the upcoming week when it is scheduled for replacement. Monday is the next wave of rain and I have a tight schedule to follow. I picked up some chia seeds for toppings on oats and then I noticed I was out of oats. Go figure.
