Spin Time

I can't believe it's only Wednesday. When I get in from work I cannot wait to play with my dog, have some dinner, and then go for a spin on the bike. Oh I grew up, but I'll never let the bike thing go. Or the run with my dog thing. Or the walk in the park time doing both and maybe practice ollies on my skateboard. It feels good to play twelve except when my body rebels.

My dobie is beginning to feel more at ease with all the noise the bike makes when I'm riding. I don't really get enough exercise being a desk jockey for 8 hours a day during work. I think by the time I get home I'm stir crazy and feel the need to move. Can you blame me?

Play Time

Squeezing my own orange juice is one of the perks I enjoy on a beautiful morning. The weather is perfect in February because I don't sweat or get cold during the day. I'm pretty sure my dog Coda lives for a run on the leash with me or anyone that can keep up with her. This was a day to pack up the dog and head to the park. While there we must have greeted about 50 other dogs out with the same idea. My girl likes car rides and shopping in the pet store after a long day. She isn't as rambunctious in the isle when she is worn out.

My Stagecoach Awaits

Austin's 360 Bridge

Well I've had enough of the rain and I'm headed to drier ground. I think. Ah Texas, larger-than-life tales of honor, valor, betrayal, and romance. In my quest to be someplace where the sun is shining, Austin seems like a good idea this weekend. Austin appears to have more nature trails than you can shake a stick at. Then, when the sun sets and the bats fly the live music calls to my heart.

Tampa Bike Paths

bicycle trail

January log - 20 miles and no pain. On the weekends I find myself gravitating towards the bike and logging time and miles. Yoga seems to be giving me the edge for enjoying being on such a device that normally makes my back stiff and shoulders sore. There are many paths to take but with wind and sun I choose the shade route. Naturally, I brought the iphone application Every Trail along to log my progress. The app lists all kinds of trail specific activities for outdoor enthusiasts and it's free.

This also points to a list of trails for Tampa bicycle riding.

Spin Cycles

Today, the sun came out and the temperatures rose to a high 68 degrees. This is prime bike weather. Lately, I have been toying with the idea of getting a road bike for a few reasons: I need a new bike badly (yes, I'm still twelve), I need a faster bike, it should be for racing. Currently, I have a mountain bike I use for training and when the miles get high I can really gain a new appreciation for the speed bike mindset. The seats are intense for long hauls and lightness improves aerodynamics to arrive at destination faster.
