Have you seen the moon this past week? I kept snapping pictures with my iPhone but it looks weak compared to the Jack-in-the-box signage that kept photo bombing me. Tonight is the full moon.

Spring Break is in full swing here:
a) the scent of coconut oil lingers in the air
b) Every venue or bar has booked performances M-S
c) traffic is congested
d) flip flops and pollen are everywhere
e) my blender is getting a workout

Strawberry Season

I'm noticing a trend in my food and with good reason. Plant City, Florida is the strawberry capitol. During my day of parsing data structures, I snack on bites of the sweet nectar. The dollop of marscapone on top of this strawberry was enough for my dog to chase me around the yard a few times. I've been feeding her strawberries and oatmeal for breakfast but not the cream cheese.

Sharpening My Knife Skills

I'm doing better today and realize I need time to adjust to getting back in my routine. Cookies and naps were cut out cold turkey. So far I've eaten: kiwi, banana, whole grapefruit, strawberries, tangerine.

Ice-Cream Fields

Have you heard? Florida is the new Chicago. The weather rolled in from Arctica and blasted the tropics right out of its delicates. With nightly freezing temperatures, the vegetation resembles the glass art work of Dale Chihuly rather than succulent strawberries. The ice protects the strawberries by creating a barrier and preventing lower temps from penetrating the skin.
