Most day, I like going to the office. Not currently when it means my car must surf through a foot of water to get in or out of the district I'm in. UGH! Many motorists get stranded thinking it wont hurt their cars...WRONG. It will. Be careful out there with the tropical wave dumping 2-6 inches an hour in areas that are prone to flood, like my office. This isn't even the worst of what I had to move through. It's only what I snapped a photo of.
This has to be one of my best dishes this past year. The market had some sashimi grade tuna steaks and I knew exactly what to do with them. First rub some olive oil on them and sprinkle with salt and pepper. Next I placed a layer of black sesame seeds on a plate and placed the tuna in it to coat evenly. After that I placed the tuna in a pan on med heat for 2 minutes on each side. The key is to not move the fish until its ready to flip and be gentle to not disturb the sesame seeds. I thought it was a good choice since I had to splurge on the renovations. Celebratory dinner at home $11.95. The price of solid new roof construction and knowing its going to hold during hurricane season - priceless. I'm sleeping much better at night.
What a mess of rain we are in for tonight. A squall line with 90 mph winds is moving in and I'm keeping a watchful eye on the roof. So far so good.
My dog was upset at the noise last night so I knew something was up. Last night I spent most of the hours walking around the family room looking for leaks. I'll let you know that before I made it to the light switch I squished my way into the room. The roof leaked in the past and I had gotten estimates over a couple days ago. We planned to have a new one placed on as soon as possible. Then last night Niagara Falls fell on the little house.
