Little Neck Clams with Sauvignon Blanc

I've not cooked this in a couple of months. It was Coda's favorite dish and she especially loved the linguine soaked noodles with lemon, wine, Italian parsley and capers. After spending the day hanging with the dogs I felt it was time. A cooking wine should not be expensive - I used a tropical Sauvignon Blanc with hints of grapefruit. My train of thought is it would complement the lemons.

The Rehearsal Dinner

Italian food is near and dear to our hearts and with "The Hill" district downtown and an antipasta dish that can make any vegan drool it was an ideal gathering at Favazza's.

The evening began with drinks, hors d'oeuvre of toasted ravioli and something that resembled pizza but it was like no pizza I have ever tasted. It literally melted in my mouth it was so fresh and light and full of herbs. I'm sorry I don't have a picture of these but I was mingling and meeting Jenna's family and introducing myself. The Pizza Line

As I have mentioned before, I do know pizza. Pizza is serious business. Over time I have come to eat more Italian style pizza's with simple toppings that let the natural flavors of the dough and toppings shine through. The crust must be cooked right. Use a 600 degree wood fired brick oven.

Yes, I go on vacation just to eat the food. The passion of watching someone talk about what they love is what it's all about. I met other passionate people today for the Foodbuzz Tastemaker's event held at Carrabba's on 700 N. Dale Mabry in Tampa. Italian cooking is one of the most pleasurable types of cooking in my humble opinion.

It is pouring here today so I made a bowl of oats with toppings to get me through the dreary morning. If there is one thing I have picked up on by reading other blogs where the weather is inclement it's this - oats are magical.
