Ocean Tumbleweed

Is there anything better than the smell of fresh brewed coffee in the morning? Seriously. Ice coffee and John's oatmeal pancakes are the best on Sunday, preferably after I've been out on the water relaxing. During brunch we talked about the day. My morning went like this - we took the boat out at sunrise and explored the solitary morning hours before beaching for my run along the surf. When I got hot, I dove in the surf, came up for air and flowed right into yoga on the sand. Yoga in the sand is rather hard without a mat.

Perhaps I worked up an appetite?

Speckles of red seaweed paraded under the boat as we anchored and then I watched other captains try and anchor in the rolling swells with deceptively shallow looking water. One man jumped in with his anchor in hand and the rope followed. I was aghast watching this guy try and swim with the anchor and could tell his boat was pulling him out faster than he could (holding his breath) walk the bottom of the ocean floor while untangling the rope line. DUDE!
I shook the images from my mind after we got him safely in. In order to cleanse my thoughts I snorkeled a few laps and discovered a few hermit crabs around the boat. One was so cute I had to pick it up and the little guy got startled when it realized the water was gone it came out to explore the surroundings, aka my hand... and we gave one another a good scare. He jumped so hard and fast back in his shell I almost dropped him. Ariel I am not; but, I wished him well and sent him back into his world. The ocean is very much alive.
So what is ocean tumbleweed? Well, today is was coined by me, mistaken by some as anemones, sponges, and other funny names I overheard along my beach walk.
