Serious Catching Up

Holy moly I love days like these. The market was packed with colorful flowers and fresh produce this morning. You know you must be hungry when flower looks good enough to eat. Like I said earlier, I'm happier this past week with Coda doing better. I took all the food home and proceeded to place it on the counter and the took some of the veggies outside on a large platter. The patio is packed with roasting veggies on the grill and the dog chasing butterflies again.

Throwing large portabella saucer caps on the grill quickly transforms from ordinary into something extraordinary. Three minutes is all I need on each side to get the creamy mushroom flavor to marry the gorgonzola and basil I cleverly hid inside of the cap. All nestled in the crevices it soaks up the sea salt and pepper. Eating this is not for the faint of heart. The meaty mushrooms take both hands and drip all over my hands in the process.
I seem to be sucking down a ton of juice and water as if I'm dehydrated. Is it me or is water boring to drink? I must have a splash of juice to mix with it, and juice is much to sweet to drink straight.
I may have missed a 4 day weekend last week but I'm getting the hang of it this time around. Now I think I'll do my nails and go for a jog later. I miss my running partner but rigorous exercise is not in the cards for Coda. Her oncologist says her neck should strengthen over time but the pressure from the tumor pressing on the spine is too great a risk. Everyday, I say a little prayer and thank God she is here with me today and feeling like her old self.
