Craving Citrus

The weather has been humid lately and temperatures reached 80 degrees. Morning fog tends to burn off by 11am and the rest of the day is sweltering. This means it's hot tub season. After a long day and short run I find a good soak relaxing. In addition, when I can pick ripe fruit right off the citrus tree hanging over my head I'm very happy.

This is my gym routine because I don't have a juicer. I use my hands instead and these grapefruits are ripe enough I don't need one. To preparing the dressing I used one grapefruit because I like it fresh each time. The rest I'll drink in a cup of green tea for an added boost to my immune system.
I haven't run out of ideas yet and the season is not over. Currently, I'm liking this cold chicken cooked up from last night drizzled with a tablespoon of honey and grapefruit juice. I top it off with a twist of fresh ground black pepper but use chives when I have it on hand. Serve over a bed of spinach with a few almonds, blueberries and cheese.
The picture does not show off the citrus vinaigrette. I could have spent more time photographing but I was anxious to dig in and the dog was determined to snatch it off my plate.
