Kayaking the Mangroves

Nature soothes my soul and on a warm 80 degree afternoon I'm feeling okay again. I haven't felt much like writing in my blog because my dog had to be put down. It's been a rough time and I'm trying to focus on positive things again. Coda would want me to do that and remember the good times. And though, I'm usually packing up my car with her in tow - she will always be in my heart.

The sound is alive with tailing redfish and colorful kayaks gliding over glass calm water. I'm not a hunter but I like the sights of schooling fish. A bonnet head stuck his nose up at me as I paddled faster towards the jumping school of mullet.

It's been a tiring day and now I'm home enjoying a winter ale and a handful of almonds. Fall and winter here are like no place else. Blue skies, warm and sunny.

Chrissy's Gravatar I came across a pic of you and Coda (the jogging one) on a google search of Dobermans, and subsequently read your blog entries. I'm sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful Dobe, and it seems like she was a great dog.
