Oil in the Stream

Gulf of Mexico Oil Disaster

Everyday I'm haunted by the reality. The Florida Gulf Coast is usually a haven for those seeking refuge. It is now an oily grave moving like a black plague of death. What if BP is unsuccessful in fixing this? Their track record isn't exactly stellar. Efforts so far have been thwarted. The capricious nature of this environmental disaster has yet to fully unfold. Will there be a future for Alabama, Louisiana, and Florida?

People along the Pinellas beaches are complaining about the the toxic vapors due to the oil currently 300 miles away. Emergency responders have confirmed it is due to the oil gush in the Gulf of Mexico.

The industry was not willing to pay for containment of such a fast-growing spill; they were willing to take a chance. An educated person knows the difference between a calculated risk and greed. Blowouts will happen no matter how advanced technology becomes. Drilling offshore for oil in the Gulf of Mexico will always hold tragic catastrophic consequences.
