Stocked Up on Firewood

Yesterday, we had blustery weather arrive and by nightfall heaters were cranked on. When the weather dips to 32 at night I'm not going to miss my chance to get firewood. Christmas trees can wait but I was in need of logs, pronto!

Once the fire was lite I made a light snack of wine and cheese. Insigne Abbeye Ste Mere paires well with Pinot Noir. This soft mildly sweet cheese spreads nicely on a baguette and the only thing missing was soup.

My bottle of Pinot was from Kokomo winery from my trip out to California in November. I saved it for a special night such as this.

No soup for you! I resorted to a creamy acorn squash roasted in the oven which doubled as comfort food and I got to crank the oven to heat the house when I got in.

For dessert I snacked on Imperial Fruit from TFM. The prunes and peaches are my favorite.
Since I'm cold here I know many of you must be freezing. Stay warm and safe.
