Monday at Miguel's

I think since the weather has been incredibly steamy this time of year and the fact I cooked a feast over the past 3 days, I wanted to get out for dinner. Confession: I have never made my own tortilla shells but feel I may need to try this soon. If you have ever been to this place you probably know they make the best shells in town if not in Austin. I don't know if I can do that at home, though its good to have goals.

Miguel's is top notch in Tampa for the best selection and the freshest ingredients. And just for the record, nobody paid me to say this. This is my blog and I do not work for food.

The guacamole is incredibly creamy and deserves the red carpet on Oscar Night. I need to find out what they do to it in the kitchen to meld the flavor so well. In addition, the corn tortilla shells are some of the best I have ever eaten and you know I pride myself on knowing great tacos.

The rest of the night I walked around the neighborhood to look at the Christmas lights and decorations on display. Living in the tropics without the 20 degree temperatures means outdoor decorations are not so dreadful to assemble. Not elaborate, but done in tasteful style. It makes me appreciate the darkness earlier with the twinkle of lights on the drive home. Jogging tends to be an event and not a routine. Coda got a little concerned by the snowmen too close to the sidewalk but she put on her brave face and went along in stride. Fearless I tell you!
