The Girl & The Fig

the girl & the fig

Everything about the girl & the fig I liked. The menu is country with a french flair and the prices affordable. This is a popular spot in Sonoma so if you go on a weekend a reservation is necessary. I got in on a weekday with no problem but the place was packed. I sat down on the cozy couches and browsed the items for sale in the store with an ice tea to drink.

Hydration is a must while tackling wine country.

The signature salad looked simple but the flavor was bursting in every bite. Fig, proscuitto, gorganzola cheese and greens with the light dressing was much appreciated.

Fennel was a bit of a theme on this trip and I'm not complaining. Even when I'm cooking at home it's one of my favorite ingredients to add to soups. The mussels were also steamed with pastis. In France, I didn't like pastis. Here though, I wasn't drinking it out of a glass. To my delight it was lightly scented.

Finally, the cheeseburger to go with a cab. I could eat my weight in these highly addictive frites that tasted like sour cream and chives potato chips only much better.
